A course in the Visual Studies program at U.C. Berkeley--the old songs, and the feel of the places they come from--taken in all possible senses...

Well, these are the risks. You can't t step into the world without...stepping right into the world! The willingness to give it shot, though, is admirable, despite the harp interlude... (Or maybe that's why you chose it?) There's a history to this, actually...we wanted to include on your cds a recording by Marian Anderson (is she represented on YouTube?)--who was the first African American to sing with the Met (Metroploitan Opera in NYC)--and whose recordings of the spirituals are legendary. I have some in my own "S&P" collection--but they didn't include the songs we were giving you, so we went with Paul Robeson. Do check out Marian Anderson...
As I feel quite new in this world, I've just tried to walk through to get a picture. But this didn't fit in that frame that's been under construction the last weeks..
this felt like a rape from the inside!
(About Marian Anderson; I've found only one post at youtube, but it comes with nice pictures.)
