Sara was the powerhouse singer--Maybelle the master guitar player. A.P. hovered in the background--in fact, they referred to him as a dreamer--although it was always his (the man's) name that appeared on their bills. Had to be, given the social realities of those times. A bit of social history in that fact. Sara, later, divorced A.P. and remarried, left the limelight, and lived for many years in Angels Camp (here in California, in the Sierra foothills) a town that reminded some of Maces Springs, Virginia...
